About Short Stories Poetry Order Links Poetry Ensemble of Orlando
Estelle discovered her favorite form of creative expression was the written word when she was in grade school. She "began writing" after winning two cans of Planter's Peanuts by placing as a runner-up in a limerick contest. Her manuscripts remained in her possession in closets and dresser drawers for decades. Upon moving to Florida from New York once her children were grown, Estelle pursued her lifelong passion of a writing career in earnest. Estelle is an active member of the Florida Writer's Association. She enjoys performance poetry and is a member of the Poetry Ensemble of Orlando. She is an award winning author/poet, winning Royal Palm Awards for both her poetry and short story entries at the 2003 National Convention of the FWA. In 2005, she was a finalist in FWA's Royal Palm Literary Contest in the poetry category, as well. Her short story entry won in the 2008 Promoting Outstanding Writers Contest.Various essays, poems and short stories have been published. FLORIDA SHORTS, a short story anthology and HEARTSPEAK, her illustrated poetry book, are both available for purchase online and through bookstores. COLORS, a poetry chapbook, was published in 2007.
